Wrapping Up a Festive Month at The OC

What an incredible end to the year! December at The OC was packed with student achievements, hands-on learning, community celebrations and, of course, a generous dose of holiday cheer. Our students and staff truly made this a month to remember.

🌟 Spreading Holiday Cheer

The festive spirit was palpable throughout our halls, thanks to our wonderful staff and students:

  • 12 Days of Christmas Cheer: Our OC CTE staff brought their best festive attire—from ugly sweaters and festive lights to Whoville vs. Grinch themes—and were treated to delicious Christmas drinks, sweet treats and fuzzy socks. They certainly succeeded in spreading the merriment.

  • Santa Pictures: A huge thank you to everyone who joined the holiday fun in the OC Green Room for pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus! Thank you to our talented Commercial Photography students and teachers for beautifully capturing these community memories! 📸

  • Shane & Shane Concert: We wrapped up our community events with the beautiful December to Remember, presented by Texas Health, concert featuring Shane & Shane and Forney ISD All City Choir. The holiday spirit was alive across our facility!

🎓 Learning in Action

Our students didn't slow down for the holidays—they used December to showcase real-world skills and prepare for their futures:

  • CTE Discovery Days: Forney ISD 8th graders toured our 26 CTE Programs of Study, learning firsthand about their options. Current senior students presented valuable information about the programs and the #FutureReady opportunities available ahead of high school course selection.

  • Cola Wars Challenge: Our Advanced Marketing students engaged in the annual Cola Wars Challenge! They simulated a full-scale Marketing Plan, covering Market Research, Branding & Advertising, Implementation and After-Market Analysis. OC students and faculty provided feedback and the competition was fierce!

  • Holiday Mock Trial: Our Law Enforcement II students wrapped up the semester with a truly festive mock trial: The People of Whoville v. The Grinch! This successfully combined holiday fun with valuable hands-on courtroom experience.

  • Sewing Skills: Fashion Design I students mastered the basics of hand sewing, learning 7 different stitch techniques. They used this new skill set and creativity to design gorgeous ornaments displayed on the classroom's Christmas tree.

It was an exceptional December, full of learning, community and joy.

From everyone at The OC: Happy New Year! We can't wait to see what 2026 brings! 🎉
