Protocols
Security Protocols
In accordance with the Texas Penal Code and U.S. Code, school zones are designated as weapon-free zones, with regulations in place to ensure the safety of students and staff. These laws prohibit the possession of firearms and other prohibited weapons on school premises and within a designated distance of school property.
As a property of the Forney Independent School District, The OC adheres to the same security protocols enforced across all FISD campuses. To maintain a safe and secure environment, all individuals—students, staff, and visitors—are required to pass through the Evolv weapons detection system during school hours. This advanced system allows for efficient, non-invasive screening while supporting a welcoming atmosphere for learning and community engagement.
Tobbaco and Alcoholic Beverages Policy
Per Texas Education Code 38.006, Texas public schools are tobacco-free zones. Smoking or using tobacco is prohibited on school property (including vapes and e-cigarettes). This includes the grounds, parking lots, and all other interior and exterior spaces at the facility.
Per Texas Education Code 38.007, Texas public schools are alcohol-free zones. Additionally, the City of Forney code ordinances prohibit alcohol within 300’ feet of a public school or daycare.
As a property of the Forney Independent School District, The OC adheres to the same security protocols enforced across all FISD campuses. To maintain a safe and secure environment, all individuals—students, staff, and visitors—are expected to comply with all regulations.
Policy for Unaccompanied Students Under 14
In accordance with stadium policies, students under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while at the OC and are required to wear their student ID at all times. Students participating in approved after-school programs, such as Fine Arts events, Code Ninjas, or Engage, will be issued a special pass that allows them to enter the OC without an accompanying adult for the duration of the program.
Students under 14 who are found loitering without a guardian or engaging in solicitation or panhandling may be subject to criminal charges. While students may enter the OC to purchase food, they are not permitted to remain on the premises without a guardian. These policies are in place to maintain a safe and structured environment for all Forney ISD students, staff, and OC visitors, and compliance is expected at all times.
Forney ISD Policies
All students, staff, community members and visitors at The OC are expected to comply with the rules, regulations, guidelines and policies of the Forney Independent School District.
