Graphic Design Student Wins Dallas PD Contest

The hard work and talent of our students recently earned high praise from the Dallas Police Department. Graphic Design student Benedicte B. saw her artwork chosen as the winning entry in the competitive Dallas PD Santa Cops Contest.

Benedicte, a senior at North Forney High School, is in her third year of the Graphic Design Career & Technical Education pathway. While she plans to pursue accounting, her dedication to design shines through.

Her teacher, Mrs. Melendrez, noted Benedicte's enthusiasm for the race: "She was so excited about the contest that she submitted 3 projects." Out of the pieces she created, Benedicte's favorite design turned out to be the official winner.

The Contest and Recognition

Dallas PD received over 50 entries for the contest, making Benedicte's win a significant achievement. Sgt. Kristin Alvarado, the Santa Cops coordinator, shared the department’s delight in the winning piece: "We love her artwork and really appreciate the care she put into it."

Benedicte was thrilled and shocked by the recognition, commenting, "I was very surprised because there are so many amazing designs out there."

Partnership Highlight

We owe a special thank you to our business partner, Kristina Saldana from RoyalT, for informing our staff about this excellent opportunity for our students. RoyalT will also be producing the official Santa Cops apparel, which will proudly feature Benedicte's winning design.
